Negative Statements with AR verbs To make a negative statement just place NO in front of the conjugated verb Ex. Yolanda talks in the class Yolanda habla en la clase Yolanda no habla en la clase We prepare the food Nosotros preparamos la comida Nosotros no preparamos la comida

To make questions with AR verbs To make a question place the question mark at the beginning of the question followed by the conjugated verb. Keep in mind that there are no do or does in Spanish. Ex. Do you study? ¿Estudia usted? or ¿Estudias tú? Does she dance? ¿Baila ella?

Two verbs in a row Sometimes you need to use two verbs in a row. For example: We need to clean. Need is the first verb and clean is the second. In English, just like in Spanish, you only conjugate the first verb; the second verb is left out in the infinitive. To need is conjugated with we. need. To clean is left in the infinitive; that’s why you see “to” in front of it.
In Spanish We need to clean translates to: Nosotros necesitamos limpiar Necesitar is conjugated with nosotros= necesitamos Limpiar is left in the infinitive (Remember that verbs in the infinitive end in –ar, -er, or –ir in Spanish; in English they have a “to” in front of them)
