BLOGS Dialog Reflection Opinions Solutions

Creating a Blog in Schoolwires 1.Sign in to your Schoolwires Account. 2.Go to Section Manager view. 3.New Page 4.Blog 5.Create Page Name e.g. Current Events, Problem of the Week, Reading Questions 6.SAVE!

Once you click SAVE, Schoolwires returns to your list of pages. Locate the Blog page you just created and click on it.

Ready for your first Posting? A posting is the statement or question to which you want your students to respond.

You can have multiple postings under the same blog title. Math Example: Blog Title =Problem of the Week Posting = Week of September 8 th Science Example: Blog Title = Science in the News Posting = Earthquakes hit China

New Posting There are four tabs to work with in a new posting. 1.General 2.Posting 3.Comments 4.Author

General Here you simply type the title of your posting. Click in the Active box. SAVE! That was easy, wasn’t it? Now, on to your posting which is the heart of your blog.

Editing your Posting Locate the title of the posting you want to edit and click on the Edit button.

Schoolwires Editor screen appears. Simply type in your question, problem, challenge, or statement. SAVE!

Comments Return to Edit mode. Click on the Comments tab. Under “Allow Comments on this Posting?” Select Yes. A new question appears “Do comments need to be approved. Select Yes. SAVE!

Author You should not need to do anything with this page. The author and address will automatically default to you.

Managing your Blog Once students start responding to your posting, you will need to approve or disapprove their comments. Click on the Moderate button next to your posting. Approve or disapprove comments as you see fit.

Getting Fancy with your Posting If you choose you can edit your posting using the Schoolwires Editor to Add color Change font size Insert links to other websites Insert images Insert links to files on the network.

That’s It! Blogging on Schoolwires is easy and simple. There are endless ways that you can use blogging to spark conversations with and among your students on hundreds of different topics. BLOG AWAY!!!!!!
