THIS PRESENTATION IS MADE ON THE TOPIC “ENDANGERED SPECIES”.

ENDANGERED SPECIES MEANS THOSE ANIMALS,PLANTS OR INSECTS THAT ARE DECREASING IN NUMBER DUE TO CERTAIN HUMAN ACTIVITIES.

The giant panda is an endangered species, threatened by continued habitat loss and by a very low birthrate. The giant panda has been a target for poaching by locals and foreigners since ancient times.

Though the tiger is one of the most powerful mammals, it also faces the worst chances of being extinct. Tigers have become extinct in the last 30 years and there is danger of more of the tigers becoming extinct.

Rhinoceros are killed by humans for their horns, which are bought and sold on the black market, and which are used by some cultures for ornamental or medicinal purposes.

The primary threats to red pandas are direct harvest from the wild, competition with domestic livestock resulting in habitat degradation, and deforestation resulting in habitat loss.

The total population of the snow leopard was estimated at only 4,080 to 6,590 individuals. There are numerous agencies working to conserve the snow leopard. These include the Snow Leopard Trust, the Snow Leopard Conservancy.
