Email Integration Options BlackBerry allows you to choose the type of integration that suits you best: Integrate your handheld with a new web-based email account Integrate your handheld with an existing ISP email account* Integrate your handheld with an existing corporate email account Now with BlackBerry, users can choose the level of email integration that suits them best. The different email integration options are: 1. Integration with new handheld email account With this option, there is a new email address provided with the handheld, from which users can send and receive email messages. This email address would be provided to users from their service provider. This new email account is a personal and private Internet /web-based email address which can be accessed through the BlackBerry Web Client. All email messages are stored in this account. (i.e. user@blackberry.carrier-name.blackberry.net) 2. Integration with existing ISP email account With this option, users can integrate their BlackBerry handheld with an existing ISP account. Using this integration option, messages sent and received from the handheld use the ISP email address. Copies of messages sent to your ISP account are retrieved by the BlackBerry Web Client and sent to the BlackBerry handheld. Messages sent from the handheld will appear to come from your regular ISP email address. (i.e. user@isp-name.com) 3. Integration with existing enterprise email account With this option, users can integrate their BlackBerry handheld with their existing enterprise email account. All messages sent to your corporate email account are forwarded to your handheld and messages sent from the handheld will come from your regular corporate email account. This integration works with Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Domino corporate email servers and requires BlackBerry Enterprise Server software to be running within the corporation. (i.e. user@company-name.com) *Check with Service Provider for Availability
BlackBerry Web Client Enables ISP email account integration or provides integration with a new email address The BlackBerry Web Client is a console from which users can: Access the web mail account Compose, send, read and reply to email using a web-client. Download attachments sent to the BlackBerry handheld. Configure the email filters and other BlackBerry settings Define which messages are sent to the BlackBerry handheld based on a variety of parameters such as ‘sent from’, subject, priority level Set auto-signature for email sent from the BlackBerry handheld *Available to users with the new handheld account or ISP integration options with the BlackBerry 5820 handheld Check with Service Provider for Availability

Enterprise Integration How Does It Work? Someone sends an email to your email address. Email arrives at your desktop PC. BlackBerry compresses, encrypts, and forwards the message. Email is forwarded to the handheld via the (Internet and) wireless network. The handheld receives, decrypts, and decompresses the email.
