Playground Rules

First things first… Students should not be on the playground before 8:00, even if the gate is open. Wait until 8:00.

Head above your feet..always! Keep head above feet at all times…that means NO CARTWHEELS or hanging upside down from any equipment. YES NO

Play ball away from the playground equipment. We don’t want this..

Where can we play? Do not climb or sit on TOP of any piece of equipment. Only stand on places you are supposed to stand. Use the equipment the way it was made to be used. If you are not sure what this means, ask a teacher or a P.E. coach.

What else? Students should not JUMP from any equipment.

Walk, don’t run. Walk on the sidewalks and all cement common areas. They are crowded and can be slippery.

Leave the P.E. equipment that is either set up or in the carts where they are, and be courteous of those who have classes out on the field or on the courts.

If playing and your ball goes over the fence, let a teacher know. But, you will have to wait until school is out to retrieve it. Don’t throw the ball if there is a class coming out or going in the doors. Also, no wall ball before school.

SWINGS: No pushing each other (except if using the red swing), and remember- NO JUMPING from the swings while they are moving, no standing, no twisting, and only one person on a swing at a time. Be smart, do not walk in the path of the swings!

PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT: No tag on or around any of the playground equipment. Slide one at a time; sit on the slide facing forward with feet first, and do not climb UP the slides. Climb on the climbing equipment only. No food or drinks on the equipment.

We like our soccer goals. So, take care of them. Don’t climb or hang from them.

No climbing on the fences, not even the kickball fence. Even I knew that!

Keep your games in the front of the two goals, stay away from the back field.

Of course… No tackling or rough play.

Be cool! If you are really hot: 1.Get out of the sun. 2.Get a drink. 3.Relax or at least, slow down!

Bike racks… Park and lock your bike. Then, leave that area. The area by the portable buildings is off limits, too.

Fitness laps… If you want to do a fitness lap, ask the duty teacher for permission first.

Respect nature… The trees are growing to give you shade; stay off of them so they can thrive.

No hanging from the basketball backboards, rims or nets.

No horseplay on the bleachers.

What if someone gets hurt? Let a duty teacher know if a friend has been injured. If you get hurt, tell a duty teacher, especially if it is one of the 6 B s.

No playing in or around the bathrooms. The bathrooms are not base.

Now you know… Be smart, be safe, have fun! Character counts!
