Español 2 : 8-1 The Suffix ísimo

ísimo - suffix The suffix – ísimo is used as an intensifier and is usually translated as “very” when added onto the end of adjectives.

ísimo - suffix Adjectives with the “ísimo” ending have four possible forms (ísimo, ísima, ísimos, ísimas) and must agree with the nouns they modify in number and gender. ie... El examen es facilísimo. Juana es altísima.

ísimo – adding the suffix If the adjective ends in a consonant – then just add the ísimo to the end. 1. If the adjective ends in a consonant – then just add the ísimo to the end. ie...fácil - facilísmo difícil - dificilísimo

ísimo – adding the suffix If the adjective ends in a vowel – then drop the vowel and add the ísimo to the end. 2. If the adjective ends in a vowel – then drop the vowel and add the ísimo to the end. ie...verde - verdísmo grande - grandísimo
