Should You Help Baby Animals? You are going to listen to me read aloud an article that contains a quiz about what people should do when they find baby animals. I want you to write down the answers that you think are the correct way to treat animals.

Two Days in May This is a fictional story about a herd of deer that roams into a city neighborhood.

Monitor/Clarify As you read, pause to monitor how well you understand what happens in the story. Clarify any events that are confusing by rereading.

Making Judgments Active readers sometimes have to decide whether they think a character’s actions are right or wrong. This can be done by thinking of what is good about something (pros) and what is bad about something (cons).

More Prefixes and Suffixes Prefixes and Suffixes change the meaning of words. A Prefix is added to the beginning of base words. A Suffix is added to the end of base words. un- means “not” -ly means “in a certain way”
