Process Resources Evaluation Conclusion Task Introduction Credits © 2009 Mrs. Bishop AGENDA To help him determine what type of music to play and what else to have at the dance, Mr. Fox is holding a meeting with all of the employees of the Fox Den. Create an agenda for this meeting. At this meeting, you need to discuss the following things: When, where, time of dance? What type of music will be played? What type of food to serve at concessions? Will there be a dress code?

Process Resources Evaluation Conclusion Task Introduction Credits © 2009 Mrs. Bishop MEETING MINUTES Mr. Fox would like you typing the meeting minutes from the meeting you had earlier where you discussed what type of music to play, etc. You need to look at the agenda you created and explain what was decided.

Process Resources Evaluation Conclusion Task Introduction Credits © 2009 Mrs. Bishop FLYER Mr. Fox would like to hang flyers up around town advertising the dance. Create a flyer that includes all of the necessary information – When, where, why, who, etc. Use WordArt, Shapes, ClipArt, textboxes, etc. Remember the desktop publishing tips we discussed.

Process Resources Evaluation Conclusion Task Introduction Credits © 2009 Mrs. Bishop NEWS RELEASE Mr. Fox would like to put an article in the Omro Herald about the dance. Prepare a news release that contains all of the necessary information about the dance. You are the contact person and the information can be released immediately. Type this on The Fox Den letterhead.

Process Resources Evaluation Conclusion Task Introduction Credits © 2009 Mrs. Bishop BUDGET To see how much this dance is going to cost, create a budget in Microsoft Excel. You need to include a title in cell A1, and column headings in cell B1 & B2. Make sure you include a “Total Cost” at the end of your list so Mr. Fox knows how much the dance is going to cost him. Add colors to make it look interesting. You need to include the cost of a DJ ($50/hour), rent of the building ($150), advertisements ($200), and cost of food (you need to calculate on your own)

Process Resources Evaluation Conclusion Task Introduction Credits © 2009 Mrs. Bishop DATA SOURCE & LETTER Next, you need to write a letter to the people in this classroom explaining the concert. Create a data source that contains the names and addresses of all of your classmates. Type up a modified business letter that includes all of the same information that is on the flyer and in the news release – the important stuff. You would like to have your classmates work the concession stand and/or donate food that could be sold during the dance. Make sure you include this request in your letter and tell them who they should contact if they are interested in helping out. Type this letter on The Fox Den letterhead. Remember you are representing Mr. Fox and the Fox Den so make sure your grammar and spelling are perfect! Merge the letter and your data source. For review before sending the letters in the mail, Mr. Fox would like to preview the first two letters only. (Print only letters for the first two entries in your data source.)

Process Resources Evaluation Conclusion Task Introduction Credits © 2009 Mrs. Bishop TABLE The DJ has requested a table containing “The Top 10 Songs” that should be played sometime during the dance. The table needs to include a title, column headings, the name of the artist, the song, and the album that the song is on. Add color and change the borders to make it more interesting.

Process Resources Evaluation Conclusion Task Introduction Credits © 2009 Mrs. Bishop NEWSLETTER Congratulations!! The dance is over and it was a big success!! As your last assignment, Mr. Fox would like you to create a one page newsletter that can be given to all of the employees that helped make the dance a success. In your newsletter, include articles that recap the dance (what, when, where, who), explain what music was played and who the DJ was, thank everyone for their help, how much money was raised for the animal shelter, and give a person they can contact if they are interested in helping with the dance next year. The title of the newsletter is “ The Den.” The newsletter needs to be at least 1 page long, two columns, and include two clipart pictures. Be creative!!
