Presentation transcript:

The Foundation Statements and the Preescolar III to Segundo outcome for designing and making place an emphasis on students:  responding to investigations of needs and wants  following a guided design process to create products  drawing and modelling design ideas using accepted methods and practices. Students designing in Preescolar III to Segundo Science and Technology At Preescolar III to Segundo, students become more methodical in their approach to designing. They are more willing to draw and model ideas before settling on a final solution. They start to appreciate how products and environments are designed to meet people’s needs. Students work co-operatively sharing resources and helping others where necessary. Following are two samples of classroom practice.

Sample Task A: Design a shelter for an animal of your choice

Preescolar III to Segundo Task A: Design a shelter for an animal of your choice exploring needs Teacher: “We brainstormed ideas and saved them for use when designing.” generating ideas success criteria
