Materials: Name Card; ISN; Binder Reminder; highlighter One loose sheet of paper; ruler; scissors

Pg. 16 Question: Do different brands of gum affect the diameter of a bubble that has been blown?

Hypothesis: If you chew four pieces of gum, then the __________ brand will make the biggest bubble because…

Materials Needed: Each group needs: Gum: Orbit (sf); Bubble Yum; Super Bubble; Double Bubble Ruler Beaker tongs

Procedure: Take four pieces of different kinds of gum. Each student chews a piece for three minutes. During the last minute, practice making bubbles. Students will blow a bubble and measure, then record the results in a data table. Pair up to measure the diameter of your bubble (in cm). Use the beaker tongs and a ruler.

Create a Graph: Using the graph paper provided, create a graph. Make sure the graph includes the following features and rules. Title X – Axis Label Y – Axis Label Intervals (make sure they are equal) Key or legend
