Kookaburras eat “invertabrates” and small “vertabrates,” like small snakes Insects, snails, and worms are “invertabrates” because they are animals without backbones. “Vertabrates” are animals with backbones. Some small vertabrates a kookaburra might eat include small snakes and small fish.
