Presentation transcript:

 Ms. Crawford has observed that her science classes like to chew a variety of things during class.  Candy  Gum  Pencils Although this against the rules in my class. I have developed a question or problem statement based on this observation. What could it be?

 How many chews does it take to finish a Tootsie Roll? What could my hypothesis be?

 Tootsie Roll  Student  Science Notebook  Pencil

1. Get Tootsie Roll 2. Remove wrapper 3. Place candy in mouth 4. Chew candy until finished making sure to count each chew.

 Record the number of chews it took to completely finish the Tootsie Roll….  It took ________chews to finish my tootsie roll.  How can we represent this data?

 Problem  Hypothesis  Experiment › Independent variable: The rate I chew the tootsie roll (fast/slow) › Dependent: The number of chews to finish › Constant: Tootsie Roll Data Conclusion
