Do you know about the Woolly Mammoth? After reading this story you will be an E-X-P-E-R-T. Get into a cozy spot!

The Woolly Mammoth is a mammal. They look like an elephant. Woolly Mammoths have thick hair. Woolly Mammoths are vertebrates. You can’t find any more of these huge tusked animals in the wild because they are extinct. That was what a Woolly Mammoth looked like.

How does a Woolly Mammoth survive? They need adaptations. Woolly Mammoths have so many adaptations. In the cold, Woolly Mammoths needed something to survive. Woolly Mammoths have a layer of thick and shaggy hair. They also have a thick layer of greasy fat (3.1 in.). Woolly Mammoths migrate too. When it is cold, Woolly Mammoths migrate to the south. When it is hot, Woolly Mammoths migrate to the north. Woolly Mammoths did have adaptations that helped them get food or to eat food. Their tusks shoveled snow out of there way so they could get grass. Their teeth helped them chew the grass. One other adaptation was it’s small ears. A Woolly Mammoths predator was the Saber tooth tiger. Those are the adaptations of the Woolly Mammoth.

Do you know what a Woolly Mammoth eats? What do you think it eats. You may be surprised. A Woolly Mammoth is a herbivore which means it eats plants such as grass. Are you surprised what a Woolly Mammoth ate?

Do you know about the Woolly Mammoths Habitat? A habitat is were a organism lives. A Woolly Mammoth’s habitat is mainly a snowy grassland. If the habitat is too cold the Woolly Mammoths will die because the grass will be frozen. Woolly Mammoths did live in North America. That was all about a habitat of a Woolly Mammoth.

You are now an E-X-P-E-R-T on Woolly Mammoths. Tell facts about Woolly Mammoths to your friends. If you write a report you will get an A+.
