El Sistema – What is it? 46 A music education programme stressing social development through group playing. Developed in Venezuela, and under the continuing leadership of José Antonio Abreu since Offering every child in society, regardless of age, ability or advantage, the opportunity for social and musical development. Focused on regularly and immersively playing together from a very early age. An initiative that develops through local community music centres and the network that results from the centralised organisation of such centres.

VISION The State Foundation for the National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras of Venezuela is an organization committed to social development through an innovative and hope-instilling music education program, distinguished by its excellence and for having a positive impact on the communities where it is implemented.
