History of Egypt  Egypt is known for it’s ancient history. It has been a unified region for over 5,000 years. Mena who was controlling Egypt as a ruler began the cycle of rule by Egypt’s different pharos. The pyramids of Giza were built in the 4 th dynasty. The last of Egypt’s pharaoh’s had been displaced during a Persian invasion in 525 B.C.E. The beginning of 1863 Cairo began to develop into a modern city and Ismail took control of the country. In world war 2, U.K. used Egypt as an operation base. In July 1952 the Egyptian government was overthrown.

Egyptian government  Egypt is observed as a republic made up of a chief of state and a prime minister. Also it has a lawmaking branch which is made up of the advisory council and the people’s assembly.  Egypt’s economy has progressed but it is mainly about the agriculture that takes place in the Nile river valley.

Climate  Egypt has very hot, dry summers and mild winters. The capital of Egypt which is Cairo that is located in the Nile valley has a high temperature of 94.5 F (35 C) in July. In January the average is low of 48 F (9 C)

Culture  The Egyptian culture consists of many things the treasure, the architecture, the richness, the scientific development and the magic. The Egyptian culture has the attention of the whole world.

Topography  It expands from North of the valley to the Mediterranean sea and it is split up into upper and lower Egypt.

Main bodies of Water  The main rivers and waterways in Egypt are the Nile river, lake Nasser, the Alexandria-Cairo waterway and the Suez canal. The Suez canal is a km long man made water way that attaches the Mediterranean sea to the red sea.

Everyday life in Egypt  The majority of Egyptians live along the Nile river. The men in Egypt wear a galabeya that look like long robes with baggy white trousers under them. Women in Egypt wear black galabeya’s and some of them wear veils to cover their face. A normal Egyptian family has about 4 or 5 children and they start to work as soon as they can.

Food  There are Egyptian food recipes from 5,000 years ago they have made some changes to recipes of course. Egyptian foods mostly have vegetables, beans, lentils and onions in them. Vegetarians will find no problem with Egyptian food. Also there are meat dishes in the Egyptian cuisine like kofta and shawarma, but the most dishes that they have is salads.
