significado The “A” in the personal A has NO translation into English. 1.It is ALWAYS required when the action of the verb goes toward a person or something that refers to a person. (direct object )
ejemplos I see Marcos. Yo veo a Marcos. They visit their friend. Ellos visitan a su amigo.
We call our uncles. Nosotros llamamos a nuestros tíos. You take Paco to the store. Tú llevas a Paco a la tienda.
2.Sometimes, when the direct object is an animal with a name, the personal “A” is used. I am looking for Puff, my cat. Busco a Puff, mi gato. We call Spot. Llamamos a Spot.
3.The personal “A” may be used when a geographical name is the direct object. (This usage is changing and now you see it with and without the personal “A”) We know ( are acquainted with) Spain. Conocemos a España. Conocemos España.
