The Life of Mother Teresa She was born in Skopje, Macedonia on August 26,1910 She was given the name Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu She got the name Mother Teresa after Saint Teresa She spent her life helping the “poorest of the poor. ”At the age of 18 she left her home to become a part of the Loretto Nuns Congregation Once Mother Teresa stayed with a disgusting sight of a woman half eaten by maggots and rats. She devoted herself to God and to others. During her last years of life, although she had to endure sickly health problems, she continued with her ministry to God and the Church On September 5th, 1997, Mother Teresa died. To this day, we remember her good deeds and actions to other people.

Mother Teresa Helps Others Mother Teresa helped poor people in Calcutta, India and was known as “ the saint of the gutters” She started her own order called the Missionaries of Charity She protested abortion and other horrible things that happened to children and babies She established a school for poor children When she heard a calling from God she dropped what she was doing in life to help and take care of people living in the streets, poverty, and other bad living and health conditions She taught other people about God and Jesus. She was faithful and an amazing woman who loved where there seemed to be no love, cared for when there seemed to be no more caring to do and did when there seemed to be nothing else to do. God made a way for the poor people through Mother Teresa.

Why did she do this? Mother Teresa did this loving act because of God’s calling to her to help the needy and the sick. She loved God And heeded his command to her. When she was nine years old, her father died, and she learned that the best way to forget your problems was to help others with theirs.

What can we learn? We don’t have to be big or rich to make a difference. Helping others can be a giant step to treating other people fairly and with equality. With God all things are possible. Trust in God and he will make a way for you.

We must find each other. By blood and origin I am Albanian. My citizenship is Indian. I am a Catholic nun. As to my calling, I belong to the whole world. As to my heart, I belong entirely to the heart of Jesus. God will find another person, more humble, more devoted, more obedient to him, and the society will go on. Calcutta 1989, after announcing her intention to retire Humility is the mother of all virtues; purity, charity and obedience. It is in being humble that our love becomes real, devoted and ardent. If you are humble nothing will touch you, neither praise nor disgrace, because you know what you are. If you are blamed you will not be discouraged. If they call you a saint you will not put yourself on a pedestal. choose the poverty of our poor people. But I am grateful to receive (the Nobel) in the name of the hungry, the naked, the homeless, of the crippled, of the blind, of the lepers, of all those people who feel unwanted, unloved, uncared-for throughout society, people that have become a burden to the society and are shunned by everyone. Accepting the Nobel Peace Prize, 1979 I have never been in a war before, but I have seen famine and death. I was asking (myself), 'What do they feel when they do this?' I don't understand it. They are all children of God. Why do they do it? I don't understand. Beirut 1982, during fighting between the Israeli army and Palestinian guerrillas I know God won't give me anything I can't handle; I just wish He didn't trust me so much
