Overview of Data In 2005, Maine began implementing a series of evidence-based principles in community corrections Part of the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) pilot project Goal of measuring effectiveness of correctional management of offenders in the community Using CORIS ( Corrections Information System), the SAC has analyzed DOC data for the past six years on probation outcomes and more recently, prison exiter outcomes Mark Rubin - Muskie School of Public Service, University of Southern Maine
