CERL Promotion Working Group Update for Coordinating Committee meeting, Vienna 2015

Background Working Group comprises: Adrian Edwards (chair), Marian Lefferts, Ingeborg Versprile, Cristina Dondi, Kimberley Hart, and Timo Schleier Relates primarily to the prioritization of work undertaken by the CERL staff and the website team at Göttingen. Specifically aims for the medium term are: the creation of professional design templates for all CERL printed and electronic publicity materials; the production of an updated series of printed publicity leaflets; the development of new content, navigation and design in the CERL website at the formulation and implementation of a policy for the use of the tools listed above, to ensure effective dissemination to CERL members and the wider communities

Workplan Oct 2014-Mar 2015 At Oslo meeting, agreed a programme of work for the period October March 2015: Leaflets Complete the drafting, design, and production of a new leaflet on ‘Provenance’, working with Marieke (Provenance Working Group). (This completes the set of new style CERL leaflets.) Website Begin the re-design the homepage of the CERL website. Mock-up created and shared with the CERL Board.

Workplan Oct 2014-Mar 2015 (continued) CERL on the World Wide Web Explore whether there is anything we can do to ensure that CERL results always rank highly in Google search results. (We need member libraries to provide links on their own websites to the CERL homepage, and for individuals who use Google+ to mark CERL as a trusted site.) Welcoming new members Review what new members currently receive when they join CERL. Invite new members to write about themselves for the CERL Newsletter.

Workplan Oct 2014-Mar 2015 (continued) CERL Newsletter Complete and publish a Newsletter to schedule in December CERL Jubilee 2016 Continue planning a jubilee book and suite of pages on the CERL website (to include a timeline and video interviews with key people from CERL’s past). Promotional events Explore the possibility of a CERL reception in London in June 2015 to coincide with the annual LIBER Conference.

Next steps (Mar-Oct 2015) Seek new members for the Promotion Working Group; volunteers sought (although we do have our sights on a couple of people who we will approach) From March 2015, a formal ACTION PLAN will take the place of the informal workplan. Over to Ingeborg to present the first ACTION PLAN for March to October 2015…
