At the start of 2009, approximately 17,500,000 images had been made available to the public.(every year, 2,000,000~3,000,000 images) By 2012, the goal is to have released 30,000,000 images. Full-fledged digital archive Digitalized images of historical records and database of cataloged informationaccessible through the Internet /3/25

Website Features Digital archive accessible without user registration. Website, in addition, includes English, Chinese, and Korean interfaces (though search is only available in Japanese and English). Documental materials (primarily government documents) date from the Meiji Era to the end of the Second World War /3/25
