Implemented in the State since covering 96 blocks of 14 districts SUPPORT to THE STATE EXTENSION PROGRAMMES for EXTENSION REFORMS

Convergence between Research & Extension   Liaison of Project Director ATMA with Programme Coordinator, KVK for taking up advisory service during crop growth   Involvement of Programme Coordinator and SMS of KVK # for identification of technology need in preparation of BAP/DAP. # for joint field visit to at least 5 villages every month during crop season. # Field Day, Kisan Mela, workshop etc.   Front line demonstrations and research oriented activities are to be conducted by KVK in the farmers field in association with Extension Staff.   Farmers – Scientist – Extension interaction before each crop season.   AAU has designated district wise Scientists / Experts

Besides ….   Monthly review meeting with Programme Coordinator, KVK and other officers of allied departments   Manpower provided under ATMA to work together with extension functionaries of all sectors.   Demonstrations are to be conducted in the ratio of 5:1:1:1 for Agri : AH & Vety : Fishery and Sericulture in one identified village in cluster basis including one Farm School for better monitoring and replication in association with KVK.   Training programmes are to be conducted involving all officers of Agri., AH & Vety. Fishery, Sericulture and scientists of KVK.   In the first hour of agenda, all departmental schemes including KVK are to be narrated by the concerned departmental Block level Officers followed by training on main topic by resource persons

Feedback on Mass Media Support to Agriculture Extension   Success stories of agriculture and allied activities, information on market intelligence, messages related to cultivation practices, pest and diseases and departmental scheme etc. are highlighted through DDK in Krishi Darshan   Live Phone in Programme are also organized time to time in both Doordarshan and AIR, anchored by our Departmental Officers to reply the queries of the farming community.   Measure to be taken by the farming community during Flood, Drought and pest attack etc. are also published in different local news paper and through printed leaflets to help the farmers to overcome any unavoidable situation.   Technical Support Group (TSG) has been constituted to review the programmes telecasted / broadcasted and suggestion thereof.   One departmental Officer entrusted to AIR as Nodal Officer

ACABC Nodal Agency : Indian Society for Agri-Business Profession Coordinator : Sri Dilip Sarma   379 nos. of participants were trained in 12 batches since Out of 379 nos. 147 nos. have been engaged in various professions.   Out of 147 nos. 74 nos. have received the bank loan.   Various professions are : Agri Clinic, Animal food production, Medicinal plant nursery, fishery, Nursery, vermi-compost production, Vety. Clinic, dairy, poultry, piggery, etc.   One Nodal Officer from the department is nominated for the screening Committee of MANAGE.

KISAN CALL CENTRE   To bring awareness among the farming community about KCC, information are to be provided to the farmers in every meeting/ training programme / workshop conducted in the district /Block/Circle/ GP level   KCC Toll free number are also to be communicated to the field functionaries through SMS for onward communication to the farming community.   Dr. Manik Gogoi, Asstt. Director is entrusted as Nodal officer for KCC PROGRESS OF KCC (April’2011 – March’ 2012) = nos. Successful call : April’2012 = 71 nos. May’2012 = 728 nos. June:2012 = 1029 nos. July’ 2012 = 1157 nos Aug’2012 = 452 nos.

Setting up of Farmers Advisory Committees Block Level: 96 nos. Block Farmers Advisory Committees are constituted. District Level: District Farmers Advisory Committee in 14 ATMA District are formed. State Level:State Farmers Advisory Committee is yet to be formed.

  Farmers require a diverse range of information to support their farm enterprises.   Information is needed not only on best practices & technologies for crop production, which the traditional public- sector extension system provided during the Green Revolution, but also information about post harvest aspects including processing, marketing, storage, and handling.
