LEAFLET

Leaflet research: I researched some leaflets to give me a basic idea of what I leaflet should look like, looking out for the: Layout Colour scheme Font size Text content Any forms LEAFLET

RESEARCH studies/cancer-care/lottery-leaflet-2/ ov.uk/assets/do wnloads/corpora te/new-bus- leaflet.pdf These leaflets all have lots of colours which vary from page to page with lots of images.

ADOPTION FORM Adoption Form Draft One Tania Velez-Perez: ‘Very neatly laid out with a continued corporate identity, however, considering the target audience, you should make it clearer that ‘Animal Species’ means the name of the animal.’ Final Adoption Form In response to Tania’s feedback I changed ‘Animal Species’ to ‘Animal Name’ to make it clearer and easier for young people to use.

ANIMAL ONE European Rabbit: The European Rabbit has an at-risk status due to predators and its decreasing population size. They are mainly found in Europe, but have introduced to Australia, New Zealand and South America. They live in hedges, woodland, open meadows and on the edges of agricultural land. They eat a wide range of vegetation. They normally give birth to 3 – 12 young several times a year. Their main predators are cats, dogs, birds of prey and owls. animalfiles.com/ mammals/rabbi ts_hares_pikas/ european_rabbi t.html

ANIMAL TWO Black Rhinoceros: The Black Rhinoceros is a critically endangered mammal in Africa due to a threat of hunting. They live in grasslands in east and southern Africa, they are usually on their own but occasionally their ‘home ranges’ overlap with others. Black Rhinos are herbivores, eating leafy plants, twigs, fruit etc. After being pregnant for months, these Rhinos give birth to one calf. The only predators of rhinos are humans, unless killed they live 30 – 50 years. eanimalfiles.c om/mammals /hoofed_mam mals/rhinocer os_black.html

ANIMAL THREE Brown Teal: The Brown Teal is a bird at risk due to predators in New Zealand. The Teal used to be found all over New Zealand but this has now been reduced to just a few areas. Teals can breed every month of the year if there are suitable conditions however, their main breeding season is from July to November. Normally they lay a clutch of around 4 – 6 eggs which are cream-tan in colour. They are found in thick vegetation beside wetlands and creeks during the day and in wetlands at night. Their main food source is insects living in the nearby water and vegetation. Their main predators are ferrets, stoats, weasels, eels, dogs and hedgehogs. w.brownt eal.com/s ite/?p=pa teke

DRAFT 1 I designed the basic layout of the leaflet, deciding where to place each piece of information. Tania Velez-Perez: ‘Make sure you incorporate your logo and corporate identity. The layout looks well thought-out, no information will be missed when the user cuts of the adoption form.’

DRAFT 2 Using my corporate identity, I created a basic idea of what the leaflet will look like. Zosia Staniaszek ‘A neat consistent layout which follows the same theme as all previous publications. I would put the logo in all three sections of the first page of the leaflet so that it appears on all sides when folded.’

FINAL LEAFLET Using the feedback, I amended my draft and finished my leaflet, including my own images.

EVIDENCE I successfully printed my leaflet, double sided, and it came out well, with no mistakes and the adoption form was easily to remove without removing any vital information (just images).
