Presentation transcript:

In this tutorial, you will make your presentation as eye-catching and interesting as possible, to appeal to people and make them want to come and live in your area! You will find different ways of making, choosing and adding pictures to make your town look really exciting to different age groups. Go to the next slide by left-clicking, then complete the activity to kick-start this tutorial!

Activity: Look at the following images and discuss with a partner whether you think they are suitable for the purpose given. When you have reached an agreement for each picture, left-click on your mouse to check your answer and move on. A leaflet on things to see in London A brochure on famous landmarks in a city Answer: This is not a suitable image for this purpose as it has been cropped too much. Answer: This is not a suitable image for this purpose because the picture is out of focus and poor quality. When you are ready, left-click to go to the next slide.

Answer: This is not a suitable image for this purpose – it needs to be a photograph, not a drawing. Answer: This image is not suitable for the purpose as it is not related to the product! A picture on a packet of dog food A picture to go on a town’s website When you are ready, left-click to go to the next slide.

Answer: This picture has been resized incorrectly and so it is not suitable for the purpose. A picture to go on a leaflet to tell people about Buckingham Palace A picture to go on the packaging of babies’ nappies Answer: This baby has ‘red eye’ as light is reflecting from the flash. The image needs to be photo enhanced to remove the ‘red eye’, otherwise it is unsuitable. When you are ready, left-click to go to the next slide.

A picture to go in a golfing magazine to show how to swing the golf club Answer: The colour balance in this picture is wrong, making the picture unsuitable as it is. A picture to go in a magazine to advertise a zoo Answer: This picture would be more suitable in colour, as it would stand out more. Go to the next slide to see the learning objectives for this tutorial.

How did you do? Could you give reasons why the images were unsuitable? By the end of this tutorial, you will be able to: Recognise and find suitable images for each slide of your presentation Alter images and add them to you presentation
