Manufacturing Process Core ingredient: Pine wood chips. Cooked in a solution of sodium hydroxide, to remove the lignin, fiber glue. Turned into a fiber, then cleaned and refined. Entered into a Fourdrinier machine, or paper making machine. Paper heated up and run through a set of gears to create waves. Glue applied to the peaks of waves, then applied to top and bottom layers.
Factoids In 1992 we produced more than 25 million tons of corrugated cardboard. As well as another 6 million tons of non- corrugated cardboard. Favored material for boxing and transportation for consumer products. Appeal: cheap to produce, has a high resistance against tearing, bursting, splitting, for a paper element
