Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle so that you can make a difference! By Emma Kirby and Luna Slater Tavelli Elementary 2011

Reduce To reduce means that you cut down the supply of trash products and that you use recyclable materials instead.

Reduce

If you want to reduce even more, if you turn down your heating in the winter and A/C in the summer by just two degrees, it saves a ton of energy over the course of the year.

I used both sides of the paper YAY I reused!!!

Recycle! All plastic bottles with the numbers 1-7 on the bottom can be recycled. Also, you can recycle cardboard and paper. Please don’t recycle very dark or construction paper!

Look for this sign on recycling bins, plastic bottles and more!

Compost If you compost fruits, veggies, dry leafs, cardboard egg cartons, egg shells and coffee grounds it will significantly reduce the amount of trash in landfills. A composter breaks down these things into good soil nutrition.

Before these people started reducing reusing and recycling their house looked like this  There was trash everywhere!

These people started reducing, reusing, recycling, and composting. Look how clean the house is!

Before this household started recycling, reusing, reducing, and composting, there bills were very expensive because they use a ton of electricity, water and they threw paper and bottles away!

When this household started recycling, reducing, reusing, and composting, each year their bills got reduced by at least $500!
