CCE ASSESSMENT GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS CCE ASSESSMENT IS DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS CCE Plan Pen and Paper Test CCE PLAN IS FURTHER DIVIDED INTO 3 PARTS Class work/Home work Assignment/Lab Activity/Worksheet Formative Activity Pen and paper test will be conducted in all the subjects for all formatives.

ACTIVITY Duration -1 or 2 periods according to the requirement Marks – 10 Tabulation sheet to be prepared by the teacher It is one of the main assessment criteria and it is to be conducted during the FA-test week as far as possible. Activity will be conducted during regular teaching periods. Eg., Puzzle,MCQ,Project,Seminar etc., Incase it is a written paper like MCQ/Quiz, then parallel teachers must adjust the period and conduct it during the same period. For absentee students teacher can conduct the activity again if it is feasible.

WRITTEN TEST Duration – 1 period Marks – 20. QUESTION PAPERS - Two sets of equal difficulty level question papers will be prepared by changing the sequence and introducing 10% different questions by the subject teachers. While administering, precaution should be taken that the child should not get the same set Questions papers to be submitted with marking scheme one week before The formative test as given in the calendar. For absentee students teacher can conduct the test again if it is feasible.

ENGLISH PICTURE DESCRIPTION: FA 1 (VI – VIII) Duration- 1 period Marks- 10 A week before the activity the teacher will inform the students about conduction and assessment. A worksheet with a picture will be given to each child. The student will observe and apply imagination. Develop the plot. Students will be given 30 minutes to write what they perceive ,in a well organized manner. Write grammatically correct sentences. If it’s a story, can use conversational style too. Ideas (3), Correct use of language (3), Coherence (2), Imagination (2)

ENGLISH INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECT: FA 2 (VI – VIII) Duration – Summer Break Marks – 10 A worksheet on interdisciplinary project will be given to the students describing the guidelines. EXTEMPORE: FA3 (VI – VIII) Duration- 2 periods Marks-10 The teacher will prepare 40 subtopics based on syllabus. Each student will pick one topic . Maximum 2 minutes will be allotted to each student to speak on the chosen topic. One student to be kept as a time keeper Content-4,Clarity-2,Confidence-2,Fluency-2

ENGLISH CLASS MAGAZINE: FA 4 (VI & VII) Duration – 2 periods Marks - 10 Date will be announced in advance. Students will be divided into groups of 6 or 7 according to the strength of the class. Each child will be asked to choose what he /she wants to contribute for the class Magazine. Teacher will suggest and help the students to choose the topics like, poetry writing, story writing, Facts ,Jokes, Biography etc. The page should neatly hand written on one side only IDEA -(3), WRITING STYLE/CONTENT -(3), CREATIVITY-( 2), PRESENTATION -(2)

Learn a poem from the text book and recite it on the given date. Students will be called roll number wise to recite. Presentation-2, Confidence-2, Pronunciation-2, Continuity-2, Completion-2 ABHINAY (ROLE PLAY): FA1 (VII) Duration – 6 periods Marks - 10 Teacher will select a play from the Literature Text Book. The class will be divided into groups according to the strength. The students will be allowed to choose the character of their choice. They will enact the play in the class. Each group will be given ten minutes for enacting the play. Acting skill-3, Dialogue-3, Memory-2, Confidence-2

HINDI VAARTALAAP (Conversation): FA1 (VIII) Duration – 4 periods Marks - 10 Students will be informed a week in advance about this activity. Divide the class into pairs. Student will be allowed to choose a topic from 10 topics folded and kept in a box. They will enact the play in the class. Each group will be given 2 minutes to prepare and 5 minutes for conversation. Content (3), Fluency (3), Pronunciation( 2), Confidence (2) INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECT: FA 2 (VI – VIII) Duration – Summer Break Marks – 10 A worksheet on interdisciplinary project will be given to the students describing the guidelines.

HINDI SHABAD NIRMAAN: FA 3 (VI) Duration- 1 period Marks - 10 Students will be informed a week in advance about the activity. Practice with other words will be done in the class. 5 words will be written on the black board by the teacher. They can choose any of them and build 10 words using the last letter of the previous word. Answer sheets will be provided by the teacher. Each correct word carries 1 mark BAHUVIKALPI PRASHNATRAY (MCQ):FA3 (VIII) Duration – 1 period Marks - 10 Teacher will prepare two sets of MCQ based on the syllabus. Each set will have 20 questions of ½ mark (Total 10 marks) Should be conducted in the same period by the parallel teachers

HINDI SHRUTBHAV GRAHAN(LISTENING COMPREHENSION ): FA3 (VII) Duration – 2 periods Marks - 10 The teacher will read a passage and students will listen attentively. Reading will be done twice in the class. Questionnaire will be given by the teacher. Students will respond in writing. This activity is mainly to test listening skills and check whether they understand words and phrases read. 10 questions will carry 1 mark each.

HINDI VARGA PAHELI (CROSS WORD ):FA4 (VI – VIII) Duration 1 period Marks : 10 Grammer related content will be given as cross word puzzle to be solve. Grammer topics will be informed to the students well in advance. Worksheet with the cross word puzzle will be given on the spot to the students with clues to be solved Each correct answer carries 1 mark

ARABIC LISTEN AND ANSWER: FA 1 (VI & VII) GREETINGS IN ARABIC : FA 1 (VI) Duration – 6 Periods Marks – 10 Teacher will give some greetings in Arabic before hand. Teacher will evaluate each student by asking at least 4 questions. Content- 5, Fluency- 2,Clarity-3 LISTEN AND ANSWER: FA 1 (VI & VII) Duration – 8 periods Marks – 10 Teacher will give some Arabic dialogue before hand Teacher will evaluate each student by asking atleast 4 questions. ARABIC INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECT: FA 2 (VI – VIII) Duration – Summer Break Marks – 10 A worksheet on interdisciplinary project will be given to the students describing the guidelines. SELF INTRODUCTION IN ARABIC (ORAL): FA 3 (VIII) Duration – 4 Periods Marks – 10 Teacher will give proper instructions about this activity before hand. Each student will introduce himself orally in Arabic. Content – 5, Fluency– 2, Clarity– 3

ARABIC COMMUNICATIVE ARABIC LEVEL-1: FA 3 (VI) Duration – 6 Periods Marks – 10 Few basic Arabic dialogues will be given to the students before hand. Two or three students will take part in one conversation. Dialogues – 5, clarity - 3, Pronunciation – 2 COMMUNICATIVE ARABIC LEVEL-2: FA 3 (VII) Duration – 8 Periods Marks – 10 Two or more than two students will select a topic for Arabic conversation Each student should speak atleast 5 sentences in Arabic. ARABIC OMAN NATIONAL ANTHEM: FA 4 (VIII) Duration – 2 Periods Marks – 10 Students will be divided into 6 six groups Teacher will teach the Oman National Anthem with proper pronunciation and intonation before hand.. Content Accuracy – 3, Pronunciation - 3, Expression – 2, Memory - 2 ARABIC PRAYER SONG: FA 4 (VI & VII) Duration – 2 Periods Marks – 10 Students will be divided into 6 six groups Teacher will teach the prayer song with proper pronunciation and intonation before hand.. From the given topics of FA-3 a paragraph/statements will be given. Students will read the paragraph/statements ,identify the error and rectify it. SCIENCE CROSS WORD : FA 4 (VI & VII) Duration 1 period Marks : 10 A cross word puzzle with 10 clues will be made by the teacher. based on the syllabus. Clues and hints will be provided using which student will have to complete the puzzle. For each correct answer 1 mark will be allotted. Peer correction PSA: FA 4 (VIII) Duration – 1 period Marks - 10 A question paper based on MCQ will be prepared by the teacher in 2 sets (Guidelines will be as per IX PSA)

CO-SCHOLASTIC ASSESSMENT 2(A)LIFE SKILLS Grades will be awarded by the class Teacher with the help of Subject Teachers Common year plan to be made by the subject teachers. 2(B)WORK EXPERIENCE Teachers will have common year plan class wise. Grades will be awarded by the Computer Teacher. 2(C) VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS Grades will be awarded by the Art Teacher. 2(D) ATTITUDES Class teachers with the help of the subject Teachers will award the grades.

CO-SCHOLASTIC ASSESSMENT Co-Scholastic areas can be assessed by standardized tests, such skills can also be reasonably assessed on the basis of displayed behaviour by the students. The teachers need to maintain methodical documentation of students’ participation and behaviour in different situations and activities. Teachers will maintain The record of the evidences. eg.Drawing,Painting, Photographs, Videos, Write-ups, Copies of Essays ,Sample of charts etc., Rating at the end of the final term Annual Assessment All Teachers need to go through CCE manual for Teachers classes VI to VIII & Classes IX & X (Revised Edition) Value education kits with cards and CDs are available
