Agenda of Items  Overview of our Idea  Budget  What is a Raspberry Pi  Our server  The prototype  Atutor  What we Learned  Working as a Group  Conclusion

Our Idea  Utilizing Raspberry Pi technology, our goal is to fabricate a keyboard containing this chip, and effectively make the keyboard itself the computer - all at a cost of around $50  Add this to our server running as many instances of images require, it lets us build a low cost E-learning environment for a classroom

What is a Raspberry Pi? A credit card sized computer chip capable of booting an Operating System with an Ethernet cable By integrating this with a keyboard we are able to provide a highly inexpensive, easily transportable, and simple to set up computer at every desk.

Our server We took a copy ESXi and installed onto our server We set up, attached and configured our router. We also installed vSphere onto our laptop so that we are able to access the server through the Local area network of the router and externally via port forwarding. We have 3 servers running on our server. 1 st server is LTSP server 2 nd is our network and authentication server. (DNS, DHCP, OpenLDAP) 3 rd server is our ATutor server

The Prototype In the Phase we took an old mac keyboard case, pulled it apart and began to try and customize it so that we would be able to have our own keyboard with a built in raspberry Pi. In order to do this we had to cut out a slot in the side, back and front for cabling to be able to run through to the Raspberry Pi. We wanted one solid unit so that we would have a keyboard with the computer built in, thus allowing us to have a cheap built in way of using our end product in the class room.

ATutor ATutor is a web portal designed for Administrators, Instructors, and Students and essentially functions in the same way that D2L/Blackboard etc. functions. We are able to create courses as instructors, and then create accounts for students to access class resources online and submit homework assignments.

What we learned  We learned the hard way that keeping notes and journaling things is very important. When we kept notes we where able to go back and install Atutor again no problem When we didn’t, we have problems remembering commands such as ones in HTTP proxy.  We would also probably not use a keyboard with built in raspberry PI but rather use a case to attach it to the back of the monitor

Working as a group  We enjoyed a friendly working environment with no real disputes ever arising.  The only conflicts that ever arose where minor and over who would get to do the work. (we did actually have to fight for work not to avoid it)  Since we worked together a lot we knew how to work together well. David is a English major and can write well. Andrew knows everything. Tyler actually enjoys working web sites.

Conclusion This is Our server and other hardware all set up in out stand as we are getting ready for the final show case. We accomplished our goals of a low cost computer raspberry Pi built into a keyboard with a server running our instances We enjoyed working on this project and learned a lot doing it. The only regret is the time constraints and having to stop from working with potential clients that came in late and wanted us to try implementing their software.
