Alaska’s Project Overview Denali Kid Care Renewal Envelope Sticker and Phone Call Reminders Presented by Team Alaska

Project Goals To increase retention rates of SCHIP eligible cases to remain on the program without dropping coverage for no reasonable cause. Increase eligibility program efficiency and reduce waste and repetition in re-filing or registering new SCHIP applicants. Pilot test efficiency and system improvement standards through envelope renewal and phone call reminders.

Aim Statement To reduce by 50% the number of cases that auto close due to failure to renew within 6 months. (January-June 30, 2004)

Example of the Red Sticker Renewal Reminder Example of the Blue Sticker Renewal Reminder This is an example of the Renewal Reminder on the front outside of the envelope. Currently, there is no renewal reminder on the front of envelopes in the monthly mail out from Systems Operations.

Changes to Implement Striving for consistency in pulling and tracking methods of each sample set by case number at Systems Operations The Control group, Sticker Renewal groups, and Phone Call groups of pre- printed renewals will be pulled together in one large batch at System Operations Future methods to improve include: pre- printed renewal form literacy and an alternative renewal reminder sticker
