Low Emission Zones 32 cities throughout Germany have Low Emission Zones into which only vehicles displaying an “Emission Badge” (Umwelt Plakette) are allowed to enter. Vehicles entering a Green Zone and not displaying a badge are likely to be fined €40. The four colour categories are directly linked to the European emission standards: Euro 1 or less no badge Euro 2 Red Euro 3 Orange Euro 4 Green
