Today we will be looking at: Relationship between areas of development, and their interdependence. Importance of play.

Our objectives for the today: Breakdown areas of Holistic development and identify their interconnectivity and interdependence Summarise the ‘importance of play’ Explain the affects on development is a child has a specific need in one area of development

How are all these areas of development connected? Go back to your timelines, select one and highlight the areas that have clear links with other areas of development. You may like to chose a colour for each area of development.

What do we mean by the term interdependent? Lets find out by looking at activities we have used with the children

Complete an activity plan for a play activity that you supported the children through, including the age of the children involved. Don’t forget to show all the areas of development that will be covered with your activity.

What do we mean by the term interdependent? Considering the holistic development you have recorded (all areas of development), how may these be affected if one of the children has ESL?
