THE BRIDE OF THE NILE By Eiman AbdelNasser 6C

  It was said that the ancient Egyptians were considering the River Nile the god of goodness, growth and fertility.

 Egyptians loved the Nile flooding; it was great for the crops and plants.

 But in the one of the years, the Nile refused to over-flow.  When the flood did not occur the land became dry.

 Then the minister of the kingdom said to the King that the Nile wanted to get married and have children.

  All girls wanted to marry the god of goodness and every year the minister chose a beautiful girl to jump into the river and they would do it with complete satisfaction.

 And so every year they continued this celebration.

 After many years there were no more girls for the celebration. Only the king’s daughter was available.

 The king did not want to let his daughter jump in the Nile, but the minister insisted.  So the king’s maid felt sorry for the princess and she took the princess to her house and instead the maid made a puppet that looks exactly like the princess and they threw the puppet in the Nile.

 The king got sick from how sad he was so the maid went to tell him that the princess was with her in her house, and that she fed her, cared for her and raised her and so the king got happier and they continued throwing dolls instead of girls. 
