The ocean’s gift of health Fucoidan The ocean’s gift of health

What doctors are saying: “fucoidan contains the same type of antibodies found in mother's milk in the first week.” Prominent Japanese researcher Dr. Kyosuke Owa M.D. “anyone who is on prescription medications, eats poorly, has stress, or just wants to feel better should be taking fucoidan." He is unwavering in his belief that "everyone breathing should be taking it .” Dr. DeSilva M.D. JFK Medical Center researcher “There are so many supplements that can impact individual systems, but I've never seen a single supplement that can have an effect on so many different systems at once” Dr. Ron Shuler, D.D.S., C.C.N., L.N.

History of Fucoidan – China In 200 B.C. the first Emperor of China, Shihuang, sent his servant to find the medicine of “perennial youth and long life”. He returned with a seaweed plant containing fucoidan. Now, 2000 years later cutting edge science is discovering the power of the brown seaweed plant.

This substance is called fucoidan. Discovery of Fucoidan Japanese scientists have isolated the substance in brown seaweed that promotes healthy living and fights disease. This substance is called fucoidan. A large number of recent scientific studies have shown fucoidan fights against cancer formation, development, and growth.

Discovery of Fucoidan Found in the cell walls of brown seaweed, fucoidan gives the sea plant its slippery texture.   Fucoidan is a complex polysaccharide composed largely of fucopyranoside and natural sulphate. Fucoidan also has trace elements of galactose, xylose, and glucuronic acid-three different types of sugar molecules. Fucoidan molecules also demonstrate a tendency to bond with sulphate groups. Research indicates that the higher the sulphate group-count in a plant, the higher its therapeutic potential.

Fucoidan = mother’s milk In fact, the components of fucoidan are so good for the body that Dr. Kyosuke Owa, a Japanese research scientist, compares it to mother’s milk for its healing anti-bodies. For the infant, a mother’s breast milk provides an inexperienced immune system with the more experienced defense cells borrowed from the mother’s immune system. Dr. Owa’s research explains that fucoidan stimulates the production of immune cells, providing the body with a stronger defense against invading bodies like bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, and even cancer.

Fucoidan as an AIDS drug Over the last 10 years Chinese government has spent US $12 million dollars on the development of an AIDS “double H” medicine. The official name of this medicine is FUCOIDAN-GLYCALYX (F-GC) This all natural medicine has a strong effect on killing the AIDS virus and strengthens the immune molecule and cell hurt by the virus. On January 1, 2003 the medical application was accepted for this medicine by the Chinese Government.

Pharmaceutical to Nutraceutical For the first time in history a pharmaceutical drug moves to a nutraceutical medicine. Pharmaceutical Nutraceutical

Fucoidan on Japanese TV Since 2002 fucoidan has been showcased on all of the major Japanese health television programs. These programs focus on the major health issues in Japan.

Fucoidan’s healing power Both patients had stomach infections. They took fucoidan everyday for 1 week. In both patients the infections were completely gone! Mrs. Meanami Ms. Kaneyama

Fucoidan’s healing power When fucoidan enters the stomach it coats the walls with a sticky coating. Fucoidan permeates the stomach membrane and stimulates growth of new healthy cells. Stomach membrane protection Healing stomach ulcers

Fucoidan’s effect on Pylory bacteria Pylory is a major cause of ulcers and stomach cancer. 80% of Japanese over 50 are infected with Pylory or 60 million people total. Stomach cancer and colon cancer are the major cause of death in Japan. 3 times more than western cultures.

Fucoidan’s effect on Pylory bacteria These 2 patients are infected with Pylory and have stomach problems. Their Pylory levels were tested. After one week of ingesting fucoidan the levels were reduced 50%. Mrs. Sasaoka Mr. Hosaka Before 39.9 37.7 After 19.1 21.3

Fucoidan’s effect on Pylory bacteria Pylory is attracted to the sulfuric acid in the stomach. When fucoidan enters the stomach it attracts the Pylory and flushes it out of the stomach. Sulfuric acid radical

Fucoidan products appearing in Japan In June of 2003 Yakult started selling Itawaricha, a fucoidan based tea drink. According to Yakults annual report, they expect to sell 20 million bottles in the first year.

Fucoidan’s effect on cancer cells Fucoidan causes apoptosis in cancer cells. Apoptosis is the mechanism which causes cells to self destruct. Fucoidan extract Human cancer cells Cancer cells after 48 hours
