A Merit Based Financial Assistance for Sindhi Students

SANA FAME FUND – History In 1998 Sindhi Association of North America (SANA) established an educational fund to tribute Dr. Feroz Ahmed. Late Dr. Feroz Ahmed was a prominent Sindhi social scientist and educationist. He dedicated his life for promoting justice, equal social, political, and economic rights for all individuals and nations. He wrote extensively about issues that relate to Sindh. SANA provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships to exceptional Sindhi students in their pursuit of undergraduate and post graduate studies at any university in Pakistan. SANA FAME Scholarships

The FAME Fund is the collection of funds contributed by SANA Community in North America. Based on the collection of funds, each year SANA awards 40 to 60 scholarships to meritorious and needy students in Sindh.  The Scholarships are provided to deserving students once in each Academic Year  One time award for each category  Every year application is be submitted for a scholarship in each category SANA FAME Scholarships

The scholarships are awarded in the following categories:  Undergraduate Studies in Sciences$ each  Post-graduate Studies in Social Sciences & Humanities $ each  Undergraduate Studies with major in Sindhi Language, Sindhi Literature, Sindh History, etc.$ each  Post-graduate Studies in Sindhi Language, Sindhi Literature, Sindh History, etc. $ each  Students of Nursing Colleges $ each  Students of Pharmaceutical Colleges $ each SANA FAME Scholarships

In 1998, SANA started awarding 4 scholarships in the following categories: 2 scholarships for Undergraduate studies in sciences - $250 each 2 scholarships for Postgraduate studies in Social Sciences and Humanities - $500 each Total 4 scholarships with total amount awarded $1500 Contributions made by SANA members SANA FAME Scholarships

How Students know ? Applications are invited through announcements at:  SANA Website  Sanalist  Mehran TV  Sindh based lists, and  Newspapers in Sindh, such as Kawish. SANA FAME Scholarships

The Procedure & Selection Criteria Each application is to be attached with attested copies of educational certificates, income certificate, and an hand-written essay - preferably in Sindhi. The review process includes, separation in the six specified categories and review of forms, copies of credentials, and essays. Based on this review process, the applications are ranked as per the merit and the family's yearly earnings. Any applications received during this review process also included in the process. Successful applicants are announced on Sanalist, and notified by mail with money order. SANA Treasurer collects, maintains and distributes the funds. SANA FAME Scholarships
