Birthdate and Place  Born in Virginia in 1595

Family  Chief Powhatan was her father  They were Native Americans

Reason for Fame  Pocahontas wanted to make peace with the settlers  Brought them food  Pocahontas and Captain Smith became friends  She was kidnapped when she was 18 and taken to Jamestown  They kept her for one year

Adulthood  She married John Rolfe in 1614 in Jamestown.  They had a son named Thomas  Travelled to England in 1616  She got sick and died in England in 1617  She was only 21 years old.
