Local Hunger in Cincinnati What we can learn about hunger.

Local Hunger Local Hunger  What is hunger?  Hunger is a desire, craving or need for food.  It is not getting enough of the right kind of foods to meet our needs.

Local Hunger 

 Who are the hungry?  They are families with single mothers who live in the central city.  They are families with children.  They are families whose income is below the poverty line.

Local Hunger

 What causes hunger?  Poverty causes hunger.  Public and private programs are not reaching the millions at risk.

Local Hunger  What are the consequences of hunger?  Hunger changes the ability to develop and learn.  Hunger can cause sickness.  Hunger can lead to malnutrition.
