September 24, 2004 Industrial Platform Overview 1 Volunteer Day W. M. Keck Foundation Food Rescue Center In continuation of our community involvement efforts, Studley participated in assembling CARE packages for the LA Regional Food Bank. Saturday December 11, 2004

LA Regional Food Bank Volunteer Day 2 The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is a private, nonprofit, charitable organization that has been serving the disadvantaged of our community for 31 years. The Food Bank is at the heart of a charitable food distribution network that includes over 1,000 charities in Los Angeles County. In turn, those charities feed more than 350,000 people each week.

December 11, 2004 LA Regional Food Bank Volunteer Day 3 Local Hunger In Los Angeles County, 14.8% of all households, comprising 1.4 million people, experience food insecurity. Approximately 584,000 people (of the 1.4 million) experience food insecurity with hunger.

December 11, 2004 LA Regional Food Bank Volunteer Day 4 CARE Packages The 1,000+ charities around LA county are sustained by the Foodbank’s CARE package system. CARE packages are delivered to women with infants, children and senior citizens, and each package may contain items such as: baby formula, cereal, canned fruit, canned vegetables, and other foods.
