Presentation transcript:

University of Nevada Reno NSF-NEES Equipment Site A multiple, biaxial, shake-table research facility comprising: Three, biaxial, 50 ton, shake tables Relocatable on 150 x 50 ft strong floor +12 inch displacement, +40 in/sec velocity, +1 g acceleration (all biaxial) One new table + upgrades to two existing tables + hydraulic system expansion

Project Status Subaward made (purchase order issued) to MTS Systems, designer / fabricator of existing pair of tables. Critical Design Review Meeting held at MTS August 8, Installation, system shakedown, and acceptance tests scheduled for Feb – May 2002.

Questions for the System Integrator Who is responsible for making NEESGrid work? Where is the boundary between the responsibilities of a site awardee and the System Integrator? How will security of access for remote users be established and maintained? What is the schedule for SI deliverables?

Questions for the Consortium Developer What is the mission of the consortium? What voice will the sites have in setting the policy and operational mechanics of the consortium? How will the consortium set access protocols for remote users? What is schedule for CD deliverables?
