Children go to school between the ages 6 and 14. The Italian school year is from September to mid-June. Students go to school from 8:30-1:30.

Soccer is the most popular sport in Italy. Italy’s national soccer team has won the World Cup 3 times. Bicycling, skiing, tennis, and swimming are also popular sports.

Young people in Italy mostly speak English. Older people mostly speak French. Some people speak German, Slovent and other languages.

Italy’s is one of Europe’s richest countries. About 95% of Italians are Roman Catholic. Christmas is one of the most religious festivals in Italy.
