Welcome to the MPS Garden It all began with an inspiration…

In the Fall of 2011…

There was a lot of work to do…

We needed a lot of helping hands…

We worked together!

With help from Mr. Steinman and “Babe” The Big Blue Tractor we cleared the area in the Spring and had a clean slate.

During the year we planned. We received funding from the PTA for materials and conducted a fundraiser for seeds and plants.

Meet the Co-Chairs of the MPS Garden! Mrs. Larkin and Mrs. Marsh

Building Day! A big THANK YOU to Jasek Lumber Yard for donating the lumber and the Williams’ family for all their help.

Planting Time! Third Grade Spring 2012

Fourth Grade worked in the rain of Spring 2012 to plant!

The first year was a success! We created a rainbow garden. 6 Th Grade 5 th Grade

Look at our Rainbow Garden and our Outdoor Classroom! What a great place to read a story to a class.

Our work continued over the summer. We had help from Miss Staskowski with weeding and watering.

Funds from the PTA helped purchase our shed! We love our shed!

In the Fall of 2012 we entered the Chili Cook-Off at the Cruise-in to Waterville! We made a garden chili recipe.

In the school year, we conducted a much larger fundraiser and successfully raised funds to help our garden grow.

Our theme for our garden’s second year was to Create a Literacy Garden Connected to the Common Core

Planting Time Year 2! First Grade Follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. Primary Gardens

Our gardeners are proud of their hard work! 3 rd Grade planted Peter Pan’s Neverland.

Our Completed Garden! With our pretty new bench!

It is not the end… There is so much more!

This spring we hope to plant… A Butterfly Garden to help revive the Monarch population!
