As you know, many kids enjoy sitting around and getting things handed to them. Well we are here to make a difference in how kids can have fun while staying fit! The Problem

The graph below shows the transition from a healthy child into an obese adult.

Why Childhood Obesity? For our senior project, we decided to research the dilemma of childhood obesity. As statistics show, obesity is a major increasing concern in the world affecting the lives of many, especially children. Being able to take time to teach elementary PE classes about making healthy choices and staying fit, helps impact a successful future.

How Does Child Obesity Start? Lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating habits. Eating more at fast food places, restaurants, and drinking more sugar loaded drinks. Not enough physical activity. – 10% of children are completely inactive.

Risks and Complications that Eventually Occur Long-term risks and complications include: – High cholesterol – Hypertension – Respiratory ailments – Orthopedic problems – Depression – Type 2 diabetes as a youth

Workouts, Snacks, FUN!

Final Result Impacted on Children The kids now understand that being healthy and taking care of themselves is a very significant feature in life. They now have knowledge of what is healthy and what is not and how to workout while having fun.

Jump Rope for Heart “ It takes a heart to be a hero.” This is a fundraising event for children distributed through many different school districts in effort to raise money for children with heart conditions.
