ATA (ECT) Collective Agreement Update 4 year Agreement: September 1 st, 2012 – August 31 st, 2016

New: Article 6.2(e) - effective September 1 st, 2015, addition of one (1) personal day off work, at full pay. Discretionary and subject to availability of substitute, if required. Utilization to be tracked.

New: Article 6.3(b) (i) – medical documentation supporting maternity leave may be provided by a midwife.

New: Article 6.5 – allows for up to 37 weeks parental leave for those other than the birth mother. Non-discretionary and without pay.

New: LOU – leave for family military service. Non- discretionary and maximum 2 days.

New: LOU – administration of medical leaves committee and corresponding introduction of medical leaves processes document.

New: LOU – 2 paid days off work for principals, subject to Superintendent approval

Changes: Article 2.4(e) – no priority placement in two (2) consecutive years.

Changes: Article 6.1(g) (v) – no benefit premiums or other employer contributions for certain leaves of absence in excess of 30 days.

Changes: Article 8 – elimination of step 2 from grievance procedure – straight from Asst. Superintendent to arbitration, if necessary.

Changes: Article 7.1 – effective Sept 1 st, 2014, increase employer contributions to benefit premiums from 95% to 97.5%

Changes: Schedule A – salaries “rollup” of salary grid complete – simplified from 11 steps to 10 to reach top of grid % grid increases – 2% grid increase effective Sept 1 st, % lump sum payment to all teachers under contract on November 14, 2015 – includes teachers on leave.

Changes: Schedule B – substitutes – same 2% increase, effective Sept 1 st, 2015.

Changes: Schedule C – admin.allowance grid restructured – eliminates overlap of AP and principal allowances and ensures sufficient “gap” between respective allowances.
