An incompetent adult means an adult who: 1. lacks sufficient capacity to manage his own affairs OR 2. lacks sufficient capacity to make or communicate important decisions concerning his person, family or property An incompetent child means a child who: 1. is at least 17 ½ years old AND 2. lacks sufficient capacity to make or communicate important decisions concerning his person, family or property Legal Definition of Incompetency

Guardian of the Person - appointed solely for the purpose of performing duties relating to the care, custody and control of a person.
