2 Who is a guardian? A Guardian is a volunteer who looks after one or more families sponsored by Ilm-o-Amal in his/her neighborhood or town by visiting them by counseling them by conveying the help provided by Ilm-o-Amal to the family by keeping the Ilm-o-Amal team updated about their condition The objective is to eventually bring them out of poverty
3 Benefit to you as a guardian? It is an enriching experience Provides an opportunity to bring a positive change in your area/neighborhood/town Develops leadership skills Provides an opportunity to participate in the fight against poverty Fulfill your religious obligations
4 Skills & Time requirements Must be a resident of the area he/she wishes to serve Must be computer literate and Internet savvy Ilm-o-Amal will provide BMS training Reasonable skill in reading and writing English Time requirements up to 5 hours a week Must have a conveyance
5 Process to become a guardian Guardian fills the volunteer form and submits to Ilm-o- Amal at An Ilm-o-Amal coordinator will interview you If accepted your account will be created in BMS An Ilm-o-Amal trainer will meet you and provide BMS training
6 Responsibilities Receives monthly payments from Ilm-o-Amal and distribute to families Reviews the condition of families Refers new cases to Ilm-o- Amal Promotes the message of Ilm- o-Amal in his/her area Invites his/her friends to join this cause
