SISTER SCHOOLS The Auckland Girls’ Grammar School experience

‘ Educated at Auckland Girls Equipped for the World ‘ Initiatives include curricular and co-curricular activities that promote and respect human rights, diversity and the environment. Examples include: Human Rights Group – works with NGOs such as Amnesty, Fair Trade, Oxfam International School Trips – USA, Hawaii, Samoa, Japan Enviro Schools UNESCO Student Committees – International, Service, Global Citizenship Cultural Groups (participation in ASB Polyfest etc) Languages – French, Japanese, Spanish, Tongan, Chinese, Samoan, Maori and SISTER SCHOOL RELATIONSHIPS …

Sister School Goals To strengthen relationships, understanding and appreciation between the students and staff of the two schools. To increase cultural awareness and respect for each other’s cultures. To develop ties of friendship through regular communication To build international awareness between schools. To develop students into citizens who are globally engaged, comfortable with diversity and who have the skills to operate effectively across cultures with different world views and belief systems – while respecting universal values.

Text of Sister School Agreement Ohtani Junior and Senior High School and Auckland Girls Grammar School believe in the importance of international understanding and co-operation in the global community. To this goal we agree to join hands as sister schools and together we assist each other to do our utmost to further significant educational exchange and to promote friendship between our two countries.
