M ATERIALS W ORKSHOP FOR THE R EFINING AND P ETROCHEMICAL I NDUSTRIES INTENDED FOR The presentation is of interest and value to those involved in material selection, material engineering, production, inspection, maintenance and design. Program objectives: There are several objectives to the workshop. For the experienced designer, engineer and metallurgist, it provides a review of established principles of design, application and fabrication and gives an update on recent materials developments as they relate to the refining and petrochemical processing industries. For the less experienced personnel it is an excellent introduction to the problems that can be encountered in a refining or petrochemical environment and how these problems can be overcome. The ultimate goal is to improve the utilization of materials through proper design, material selection, and fabrication.
