© 2011 Autodesk Class Summary  Are you confused about how to plot all the different views (Plan, Profile, and Cross sections) in Civil 3D? Then this class is for you! We will discuss the settings and styles that help automate plotting your projects whether they include Plans, Profiles, Cross Sections, or a combination of these sheet sets. We will also examine the necessary settings required for your drawing templates to make the plotting process a breeze. In addition, we will cover some of the AutoCAD plotting functionality that you can leverage. Come and learn how to automate plotting your projects using Civil 3D (no Robin required). Batman is a trademark of DC Comics.

© 2011 Autodesk Learning Objectives At the end of this class, you will be able to:  List the settings and styles behind the plotting process  Use the plotting process in Civil 3D  Describe AutoCAD plot settings  Work with Sheet Set Manager

 Settings and Styles  Styles and settings will need to be developed for plotting plan, and plan and profile sheets  Settings tab is where some of the setup is done related to plotting plan and profile sheets  Profile Views  Feature Settings  Command Settings  View Frame Groups  Feature Settings  Command Settings  View Frame  Styles  Feature Settings  Command Settings  Match Line  Styles  Feature Settings  Command Settings

© 2011 Autodesk  Template Files  Need to setup drawing template with correct size and viewport scale  TIP: North arrow block must exist in the title block  Special viewport setting: Plan, Profile, or Undefined

© 2011 Autodesk  Sheet Set File  Setup a template.DST file that has appropriate sheet set fields to automate population in title block  Should contain project properties and additional project specific plotting settings

© 2011 Autodesk  Create Sheets  Output Tab > Plan Production Panel > Create Sheets  Create Sheets Wizard  Choose layout options  Choose existing sheet set file, or create new  Profile View Settings (recommended to edit now)  Data References  The file you are in will get referenced into the sheets automatically. If you need to add more references, you can do so afterwards.

© 2011 Autodesk  Editing  Create Sheets wizard will get your sheets 85% completed. You will need to manually edit some portions.  May need to adjust profile views, and profile view bands  Sheet Set Manager  Use tools in sheet set manager to manipulate sheets (e.g. numbering, naming, etc.)

© 2011 Autodesk  Plotting tips  Use tools in sheet set manager to publish or plot sheets  TIP: Regarding the match line hatching area, be aware. You may need to manipulate the reference layer color to slightly off-white (254,254,254) for it to plot white, and not black
