Background Information on the Miami Heat The Miami Heat NBA basketball team are located in Miami, Florida and their home games are played at American Airlines Arena. The team colors are: red, yellow, and white. Their mascot is Burnie, a rough depiction of some fire, with a basketball as its nose. The heat were formed in 1988, so they have been around for about 23 years. Heat’s record in 2010 is 58 wins and 24 losses.
