The Little Wolf Who Was Lost in the Forest by Zack Custer

Once upon a time there was a family of wolves. They lived deep within the forest.

There was a Papa wolf, Mama wolf and little wolf. They lived among the big tall pine trees deep in the forest.

Every day Little wolf runs and plays by the lake. He loves to jump in the water and splash around.

Little wolf wishes he had a friend for a playmate. Then he would be able to play hide and seek.

After little while, Little wolf got done playing by the water. It was time for dinner. His Mama made his favorite food which was steak.

After dinner, Papa wolf, Mama wolf and Little wolf trot to the cliff to look at the moon. Papa wolf starts to tell Little wolf of how he and his father would sit and stare at the moon for hours and make cool howling sounds. They would howl like this--- Hawoo!!!!!!

Mama wolf spoke, “Little wolf, it is time for bed.” Little wolf responded, “Aww shucks! Do I have to?” “Yes, good night, Little wolf.” “Good night, Mama and Papa.”

In the middle of the night, Papa wolf heard snap, crackle, pop and a loud Bang! “What is it ?” Mama wolf asked. Papa wolf replied, “It’s a bear! Run, run fast! Chaos erupted and everyone ran away in all different directions.

Little wolf runs away from the bear and hides in a cave where it is very dark and cold inside. He starts to hear noises in the cave and thinks something is moving around. Oh no is it the bear? Then he hears a voice say, “Don’t be scared it’s only me.” “Who said that?” “It is me, RJ the fox.” Then little wolf tells him about the bear and that he can’t find his mama or papa. RJ said, “I can help you.”

So RJ and Little wolf start to walk north toward the mountains, and RJ starts telling Little wolf why all the wolves go to the mountains during the winter. They cross the river and finally reach Little wolf’s home. Little wolf finally had a friend.
