CERAMICS CERAMIC –Object made of clay and fired (baked). Clay- An earthy material that is plastic (pliable) when wet but hard when fired. Clay is crushed crystalline minerals or stone (Feldspars) Mixed with other organic materials. Clay is abundant. –Clay deposits are found in sedimentary layers. –Deposits created by weathering and erosion.

STATES OF CLAY GREEN WARE-Clay that has not been fired in the kiln (kill) and can be recycled to reuse -Slip- Watery clay (liquid) -Pliable (lean to fat)or( too wet or too dry) -leather hard - Firm or stiff still damp. -bone dry - all moisture appears to be gone Bisque-ware- Clay that has been fired once and it cannot be recycled for reuse. Glaze-ware- Ceramic piece fired twice coated with glaze.
