SCULTPURE- 3-D art that has mass. TEXTURE: Element of art. The way that something feels visually, tactilely

PINCH POT- 3-D pots that are created by pinching clay into a vessel shape/form. COIL CONSTRUCTION - method for creating clay forms by rolling coils & building coils on top of coils.

Working with coil, slab or pinch methods will produce clay pieces that have different appearances. Coils & slabs can be used in many ways to produce creative ceramic pieces. In order for 2 pieces of clay to remain attached after drying, you MUST, score & slip. Clay is transformed through a series of steps that change it & make it permanently hard. BISQUE- Clay that has been fired but not glazed. FIRING - Heating clay to very high temps (+ 1,000 degrees)

KILN- use to fire clay. GLAZE - Protective coating applied to bisque. 3 functions of Glaze : H20 proof, decorative & protects
